What to expect on this tour
The full day tour starts with a pickup from your hotel or guesthouse in Chiang Mai between 08:00 and 08:30. We take a 1,5 hour scenic ride to the north, half way Chiang Dao park where Toto’s elephant sanctuary is located. At Toto’s sanctuary it is not allowed to ride the elephants. The park’s aim is to give the elephants a better life and keep them in their natural habitat, as they deserve. We try to keep them from becoming endangered and the elephants will be very happy with your assistance in doing so!

Upon arrival at Toto’s elephant sanctuary north of Chiang Mai, it’s time to meet the elephants so they can get to know you. You can play with them, feed them, take pictures and just enjoy being around them. We tell you about the lives of the elephants and show you what we do to give these mighty creatures a better life. You will be a guest in their habitat, where they feel comfortable and loved. It’s really about experiencing what it’s like being close to them!
When you and the elephants feel acquainted, it’s time for a jungle walk. We walk for around 40 minutes together with the elephants through the forest, until we get to a place where you can enjoy a bath with the elephants. They will enjoy being around you in the water and this is a real playing time moment. You will get wet, so bring a swim suit! Showers and towels are available on site for you to clean up again.
Before the elephant bathing at Toto’s we’ll have a Thai lunch. Then we continue with the elephant bathing as described in the half day tour program. At around 15:00 it’s time for a shower. The full day tour ends with a return transfer to Chiang Mai. The drive is around 45 minutes back and you should be back in your hotel or guest house by 17:00, depending on the traffic. With your visit you are helping the wonderful people at Toto’s elephant sanctuary to keep doing their important work. You have a nice day, they can continue what they are doing and above all: the elephants are happy!
